Resto of the Ford Sierra XR4i

Although on the baseplate of this model car a "Made in England" text can be read, it is beyond the Lesney era. In spite of that I like it, this is a farily good production, still better, than of those made in Macau. I could pick it up for a song at a flea market, I was happy to get a Sierra to restore! Luckily the parts were alright, so I started to restore it.

I gave it a nice bronze colour, I was not fond of the original.

I painted the detailes, and it got number plates, too.

A bigger Volkswagen in the sixties - The Type 3

And this is my most favourite car - THE CAR - the Volkswagen 1600TL! I got this model, when I was six; since then I love this car! So it was obvious, that I want to restore a VW Type 3, too, it was a must!

What I got at a flea market it was a SuperFast version with wide wheels. The windscreen had to be changed, because it was broken, but the wheels were in fairly good condition, so they stayed. And the three spotlights were missing from the bumper, so I shuffled away their traces. The car got a light metallic green colour instead of the original pink (which I really disliked).

And I made a custom G-type box for it!

A Luxury Sportcar from the '60s - The Ferrari Berlinetta

When I was a child, I didn't have this car - only wanted to. When my restoration hobby started two years ago, I decided to get this Ferrari and restore!
This car was produced by Lesney with several weels - I preferred the SuperFast, nevertheless it is not so easy to find this MB-75 Ferrari Berlinetta to restore. Either I find one in very good condition, which needs no resto, or I find one in a very poor condition, which needs at least 2 plus donors (for wheels and window)!

And yes! What I found the last year, its windscreen was broken, I had to buy for it another window unit.

I changed the wheels, too, because they weren"t so good and these new ones seemed to me better, more sporty!

An American Muscle-Car by Lesney - The Mercury Cougar

This is an iconic American muscle car from the sixties which has been produced by numerous model factories, just like the Lesney Products. This model was a very succesful one, with the opening doors and the SuperFast wheels.

My model was not very shabby, but I decided to refresh it. The original colour was pale metallic yellow-green...

but I preferred this light blue colour:

And the, I made a custom G-type box for it:

Is Your Computer Out Of Order? Call The Computer Service!

I made a non-stop computer service truck from the MB-68 Lesney-made Matchbox Chevy Van. The original colour was OK, I painted it the same colour.

It got new wheels as well, because I didn"t like the original different wheels.

I designed new stickers with graphics of a non stop computer service:

At the end it got a new, custom box, too!

Never Been in Production - The Lamborghini Marzal

It is very interesting why had the model factorys chosen cars that have never been in production, just like the futuristic Lamborghini Marzal. The two-seated Miura was a hit, and the Lamborghini wanted to design a four-seat luxury sport car, too. But at the end only one Marzal had been made, a prototype.

There are still much species of ths Matchbox-made Marzal even today, so it is not a rare model.

A Luxury Car From Pieces - Lamborghini Miura

This is a nice Matchbox SuperFast model from Lesney, I like it very much.

The last year I found a Miura model in a very poor condition at a börse. I bought it and just another one, too, because the first car had both of the opening doors, but the second car had a good windscreen. The chassis had to be built from two pieces... So it was just like a puzzle game to get one car from two; let alone the fact, that the wheels had to be replaced!

I wanted to give it another colour, not the original one; so the new colour is a light greyish metallic blue.

The European Ford Mustang - The Ford Capri

The Matchbox Lesney Superfast Ford Capri Mk.I was always one of my favourites, I've got an original one in my own collection. But of course, there came the demand to restore one. Last year I managed to get a Capri to restore.

Previously it had its original pink-orange and black colour and had wide wheels. I changed them for a narrower set of wheels - I liked it better.

I painted the details, as well:

Later I restored another Ford Capri and it got the same colour:
