The European Ford Mustang - The Ford Capri

The Matchbox Lesney Superfast Ford Capri Mk.I was always one of my favourites, I've got an original one in my own collection. But of course, there came the demand to restore one. Last year I managed to get a Capri to restore.

Previously it had its original pink-orange and black colour and had wide wheels. I changed them for a narrower set of wheels - I liked it better.

I painted the details, as well:

Later I restored another Ford Capri and it got the same colour:

A cute little car from the UK - the MG 1100

I had an MG 1100 previously, which was not in bad condition, in spite of that I thought I would restore it and give it a new colour. (In this case I haven't got a 'before' picture.)

It got a new metallic green colour, and besides, the wheels were changed. And then I painted the small details, too.

Are You In A Hurry? Take A Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL Taxi!

This was my second taxi restorion, a Matchbox Lesney MB-54 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL.

I disliked its original colour, so it got a bright yellow (and of course, the details)!

The Ford's Muscle Car - The Mustang Mk I

I always wanted to restore a Matchbox Lesney SuperFast Ford Mustang, so I was very glad, when someone gave me one - free of charge! It was already in parts, so the restoration could start with the painting. (Unfortunately I didn't make a before picture in this case.)

It got a nice light metallic blue colour:

A car that has got wings

Yes, this is the Mercedes-Benz 300 'Gullwing'. It is so special, unique car, that I decided to get one, which doors can be opened. I found a Corgi Junior made one, which was in very good condition.

Originally it was red...

...but I wanted a nicer new colour a metallic dark cerry one.

I painted the details, too:

It is for my own private collection!

A Ford Pick-up as a glass delivery truck

This is the restoration of a Matchbox Lesney Superfast MB-06 A Ford Pick-up. It is a permanent problem with those model cars which used to have special plastic parts, but those parts are missing or damaged. What shell I do with the Ford F-100 Pick-up without its white canopy? Formerly I restored a yellow one, where the peoblem was the same. Then I created a flower delivery truck from it. But what will deliver now?

I got it! It will serve as a glass transporter pick-up truck! First of all I have to build a proper stand for the glass, which fits perfectly into its cargo compartment and it souldn't move, but small enough that I could palce the car (with the stand) into its box.

The stand consists of rest parts of plastic model houses of H0 scale. What a good thing, that I kept them, so I can use them for several things to replace or create for my 1/64 scale cars!

When the glass arrived I canged the wheels, too:

Do you know which is the front and the end of this car? It is the Freeman Intercity Commuter

Yes, it not so easy to tell which is the front or which is the end of the car. This is the Matchbox Lesney Superfast MB-22B Freeman Intercity Commuter. It looks like a sightseeing small bus, but I thought it might be a taxi, too. So I created a taxi from it.

Originally I bought it only for its wheels, but then something occured to me - came a new idea - and I restored it. The windscreen was not really good, so I had to replace it.

The yellow car without Taxi decor:

And with the Taxi stickers:

And at the end I made a G-type custom box - for this taxi:
