Sport Renault From The Eighties - The Renault Fuego

Not so many toy factory made the Renault Fuego in 1/64 scale. I always liked this model, so I was glad, when I saw at a flea market this Norev-made Renault Fuego. The main problem was the wheels, the axles were not straight, and the wheels had to be changed.

It has got small wheels, not so easy to get them in this small measure. Luckily I had a pair from another restored car. These new wheels fit well to the Renault.

Although the factory paint was not shabby, was very thick, covering the smal details under. So I made up my mind to remove the original blue paint and give a better colour and thickness to be able to paint the fine details, too.

Recovery of a distorted BMW

The last autumn I noticed at a flea market this BMW 635, and I liked its shape, so I bought it. I bought it, in spite of its distorted chassis. I hoped, I can restore it without breaking it; and it happened so! Luckily the windows and the interieur were all right. Otherwise it is a totally noname toy car, nothing is written on its baseplate. (Later turned out, that it is an American brand, the TootsieToy-made model.)

The baseplate was made of plastic and only a little plastic part hold the axles, so when I changed the wheels, they were broken off. Never mind, I replaced with a better solution, which gave suspension, too, which the car hadn't previously.

Instead of the original yellow, I thought a metallic light blue colour would fit better to this BMW.

Finally I painted the details and made a number plate.
