Another Gullwing - Another Corgi Mercedes 300

I have already restored a Corgi Junior Mercedes Gullwing, but I could not resist this one, when I met her at a fair. Although it was only a bit shabby, I thought I give her a nicer new colour!

I think this metallic light blue fits much better, than the original did.

The German Star From 1974 - The Volkswagen Golf Mk1

This is a hit by Lesney, one of the best shaped VW Golf Mk1 in 1/64. It was a must to get one and restore / customize it! Luckily I managed to buy a late one, originally without the roof rack.

The windows and the wheels were alrigt, I could start the restoration. From my childhood there was a picture in my mind, I saw two light blue East German cars at the Lake Balaton - one of them was a Golf Mk1. (The other was a Lada 1200.) So i decided to paint it light blue.

A Ford Escort Mk3 by Corgi Junior

Several producers made this Ford Escort Mk3 in several quality and scale; in this case I restored this Corgi Junior one. Its shape is all right, only on the backside the Corgi-type towing hook system is strange... And unfortunately the towing hook was missing. Never mind, restored, and customized it.

When it got the details, looks much more realistic:

A Godess From France - The Citroën DS 21

Telling the truth, this car is not one of my favourites. Nevertheless, it was a very modern car in its age, it can be considered a futuristic car even today! So when I saw it at a model car shop, I could not resist, I knew, it will be a very nice custom!  This model is from the old V-series of the German manufacturer, SIKU. The body is fairly well shaped, there are some tiny details, too. Surprisingly nothing was missing, the doors are opening, even the wheels are OK.

So let's start the restoration! The new colour is also a green, but a lighter and metallic one. Naturally I painted the details, too.

A British Idol - A Jaguar XJ6

It is hard to find in complete condition an old model car, like this Corgi Junior Jaguar XJ6. Okay, the towing hook was gone, but luckily all of the other parts were all right, so I could start the restoration/customization. I used to have a similar Jaguar made by Matchbox, but it was a broken one, that's why I was glad, when I found this Corgi Jaguar - fairly complete. I didn't like its original colour, I rather gave it a new colour: a metallic burgundy, where the "chrome" parts look much better!

In the trunk you can see several bottle of booze to complete the weekend party!

And I made a custom box for it - with similar design, like the originals use to have.

A Peugeot Unusually From America

This Peugeot 505 was produced by the American Hot Wheels by Mattel. I have never seen previously European rare models (except the VW and the Mercedes-Benz) in range of Hot Wheels. The wheels are too big, but the chassis is all right, so when I noticed this car at a flea market, I thought it is a must to buy and customize it!

The windows and the wheels were in fairy good condition, so I could start the restoration.

Instead of the original metallic yellow, it got a red-orange colour - with some details, too.

The Kennel Truck

The Lesney-made Kennel Truck is a must for all Matchbox collectors, of course with the plastic canopy and the four dog figures. But during the years these small parts are generally missing, so what is left is the only car, itself.

This truck has lost its radiator grills, too. I had to replace it.

And the canopy, and also the dog figures.

And this car got an extra addition: instead of the original green window I replaced it with a clear one and placed interior inside, too. (It is from a Matchbox MB-6 red Ford Pick-Up.)
