Sedan Mercury Cars

This Mercury Park Lane is not a rare, but very popular model in the Matchbox range. The Lesney had only produced Mercury Park Lane sedan as a Fire Chief and a Police, but no civil car. So I decided to make one, but at the end I made two of them: a light metallic green and a metallic beige. (I think it is not a beige colour, but this name was on the spray.)

The hole of the roof light had to be filled and I replaced the baseplates, because the original was damaged.

And What If We've Got No Pipes For The Leyland Truck?

This is a general problem with the models made in the Lesney era: as years are passing by, the small plastic parts are missing. It is not so easy to get original or new ones - in this case plastic pipes - so if I restore a Leyland Pipe Truck I should find out something else as load. So now this Leyland truck delivers timber instead of pipes.

A Ford Granada From China

This is a Maisto-made Ford Granada MkII. It is not a copy of a model car of a big brand (e.g. Matchbox), it is an own product of the Chinese company. Looks very nice, and has got some suspesion, too, which is not a general feature of the toy cars from the nineties.

I didn't make a before picture, so I "borrowed" one from the internet: it was in similar condition.

The part were alright, I changed only the wheels. It got a new metallic claret colour, some details and number plates, too!

A Car From The Airplane Factory - The Saab Turbo

This is a Saab Turbo, made by the French Majorette. I always liked this car, but as a child I had it never. As it was possible, I bought one to restore/customize.

The chassis was unfortunately broken, so I had to repair it, let alone the fact, that the surface of the roof was not smooth at all, I had to abrade it.

The car got a dark metallic blue colour and I painted the small details, of course!

A Ford Sierra by Majorette

This is a Ford Sierra by the French Majorette. It is a simple saloon version, not a special or racer one. The model itself was in good condition, only the right rear lamps had to be created, because they were missing. The chassis and the bumpers got a new bronze colour and the interieur became light gray, because I thought the original red wouldn't fit to the bronze. Of course, I detailed it.

Would you have a truckful Nutella?

In my childhood I haven't got this truck, only I saw it in the catalogue with the logo of Kellogg's. But the last year I bought this Matchbox Lesney Dodge Commando, because I had an idea how to restore it! It was only slightly shabby, a good base for restoration. But I changed the original  logo for a Nutella advertisement.

It is the original one.

And the restored truck with the new decor:

A Luxury Tour with a Lesney Bus

This is a quite common Lesney-made Airport Coach. I had an idea to restore one, but to customize, too. So the new stickers on its side says Luxury Tours (and not British Airways). Instead of the old metallic blue, I painted the chassis for metal beige colour and changed the wheels, as well; I took them from a Hot Wheels vehicle.

This is the original state. Luckily the plastic roof and the windows were all right.

It got new stickers, some detail and number plate, too.
