New task: Matchbox Mercury Police car from Fire chief

This Mercury Park Lane sedan is from the second release of the model, because it has got a light bar on the roof, instead of a single flashing light and lost its suspension, too.
Originally it was a Fire Chief Car, only I made a police car of it and used of an older interieur, where were two policemen, too, because in the original the men were missing.

I prefer model cars with suspension, so I changed also the baseplate for an older one.

And got stickers of the King Size Mercury, K-23.

And I changed the windscreen, too, for a colorless one.

'When It Comes To Safety'' Majorette MA-220 Volvo 245 D

With this slogan was advertised the Volvo cars about 20-30 years ago. Although this car is not a Lesney-made one, but by Majorette, I liked it since my childhood. That time I also had a Volvo in this colour, so when I got one recently to restore, it was obvious, that its new colour will be the same as the old one was!

It is naturally for my own collection!

After the painting I detailed the chassis a little-bit.

A Speed King: Matchbox Porsche 910

Telling the truth, I'm not really fond of racing cars, but I always liked this Porsche. I had this car for a really long time, I don't know how I got it. (Maybe on a flea market...)

It wasn"t in so poor condotion, but I prefer the new-looking ones. So the verdict was: to be restored!  And to be sold, too, because I already have another one.

It got nice metallic lilac colour and got the sticker with the number 68.

And got an own, unique G-box, where the car is not red, but lilac:

It was soon

New Skin: Matchbox Lesney MB-09 AMX Javelin

My next car for restoraton was a Lesney-made AMX Javelin. I was lucky, I coud get a good one, all of its parts were alright, even the towing hook (which was generally cut off, seems to me that children about 45 years ago didn't really like it), so it needed only a repaint. This car was also for sale.

I gave it a nice metallic blue, slighter darker, then it was originally and yellow-red stripes throughout the whole body, in style of the seventies.

At the end I got bright red plastic stickers, which are very alike to the rear lamps of the big cars, so I cut small pieces of it and put the onto the rear side of the car.

Just it became very realistic with that.

And it had no much time to relax on my shelf, it was

Fleur Boutique: Matchbox Lesney MB-06 Ford Pick-up

Sometimes I buy cars not for restoration, not for my collection, but for spare parts. This happened to this RW Ford pick-up truck, because I needed its windscreen and interieur. It had no radiator grills and the canopy was missing, too. But when I had the chance to get that radiator, I decided to renew it, in bright yellow colour with red windscreen (from another Ford F-100 Pick-up)! This Ford was not for my collection, but for sale.

Even another identity should be given. Having got no canopy, it should deliver something... But what? First I tried with small boxes or barrels, but they didn't really fit to the cargo hold, so I had to go on with the ideas.

Later I found bigger open boxes in HO scale, three of them exactly fit into the space. I thought, it will deliver flowers!

And then the truck got unique stickers, so everyone knew, that it works for Jane's Fleur Boutique!

And it was soon

RW to SF: Matchbox Lesney MB-56 Fiat 1500

The second restoration - and a bit customization, too - was a Matchbox Lesney-made car, a Fiat 1500. It is a funny-looking car, typically the 1960-s. Originally it has got a luggage on the roof, but unfortunatelly it is always missing from most of the cars for restoration I saw in shops or fairs.

Otherwise everything else was OK, the towing hook, and the windscreen, too, which is also a sensitive part of the old model cars, on one hand, because it might be cracked or scratched, on the other hand it can break very easily, because of its age.

It also got the nice light metallic green.

I made a change on the baseplate, because it had originally Regular wheels, but I prefer SuperFast wheels, so I created a special holder onto the baseplate for the SF wheels. I have no pictures of it, only the result:

Later I managed to get a luggage, luckily.

Although I know, it used to be a toy car for children, I detailed it, so it became a model car!

This car is also for my collection, not for sale.

The first one: Matchbox Lesney MB-73 Mercury Commuter

My first 'victim', which I repainted was a Mercury Park Lane Commuter by Matchbox. It wasn't so bad condition, my goal was only to restore the original state, nothing special. So I tried to get very similar paint for that car.

After disassembling turns out, is there anything wrong inside? Luckily this time all of the parts were in good condotion. I removed the paint from the chassis and cleaned all the other parts.

The new metal light green paint was especially mixed for this car, but I got to like it, so I used later for other cars, too. This car became member of my collection, not for sale. And at the and I made a repro G-box for it - having got no original one.
